Frequently Asked Questions

Select a question to open the answer
1 How does a custom jewelry order work?

Start with the idea. Send me a sketch, photo, logo, reference, or just explain what you’re trying to make. I review the design, your preferred metal and stones, size, budget, wear, and timeline, then I build the piece in 3D and walk you through the direction before production starts.

2 Can I use a photo, logo, drawing, or reference?

Absolutely. References help me understand the subject, mood, proportions, or details you care about. I use them as direction, then build the final custom jewelry design in my own 3D workflow instead of dropping a stock model into your piece.

3 Who actually designs GoldHearted jewelry?

I do. Every GoldHearted design starts with me digitally. My background is in 3D design, character work, digital sculpting, and animation, so I model and sculpt the piece before production. I work with skilled casters, bench jewelers, setters, and other production partners when it is time to turn the digital artwork into finished jewelry.

4 Can I make changes before my custom piece is produced?

Yes. That is one of the reasons I design in 3D first. We can review the important details while changes still make sense. Once casting, stone setting, enamel, engraving, or finishing begins, revisions become much more limited.

5 What metals do you work with?

I’m open to essentially any jewelry-appropriate metal that can be safely sourced and produced for the project, including sterling silver, many colors and karats of gold, platinum, and specialty alloys. You can choose the metal you want; I’ll explain durability, upkeep, casting behavior, thickness, wear location, and whether that choice is the best fit for the design and your budget.

6 Can I choose diamonds, moissanite, or colored gemstones?

Yes. Depending on the design, options can include natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, moissanite, colored gemstones, or a mix. I pay attention to stone size, color, setting style, wear, and layout so the stones feel built into the artwork instead of added afterward.

7 How does the Custom Name Necklace Designer work?

Build your own personalized name necklace or nameplate in real time. Type the name, watch the 3D preview update, choose the metal and available design details, and see a live estimate while you experiment. When you’re happy with the direction, send the configuration to me and I’ll review the proportions, production setup, and final quote before anything moves forward.

8 When will GoldHearted Custom Grillz be available, and what can I make them in?

I’m planning to open Custom Grillz in December 2026. The service is for original 3D-designed grillz in jewelry-appropriate metals such as silver, gold, platinum, and specialty alloys, with options that can include natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, moissanite, and colored gemstones. Final recommendations depend on the fit, design, casting, wear, and budget of the specific grill.

9 How long does custom or made-to-order jewelry take?

Many made-to-order pieces are around 2–2.5 weeks before shipping when the product page says so. For a fully custom piece, budget about four weeks for 3D design and revisions, casting, stone setting or enamel when needed, finishing, and final review—then add shipping time based on your location. Very complex work or special sourcing can take longer. If the piece is a gift or tied to a date, contact me before ordering so we can plan backward from the deadline.

10 How is shipping handled?

Shipping starts after the piece is finished—not when the order is placed. Production time and transit time are separate. When your piece is ready to leave, the shipping method and final details are confirmed with the order.

11 How should I care for my jewelry?

Care depends on the metal, stones, finish, and where the piece is worn. I’ll give you specific guidance when your design needs it. In general, store jewelry separately when possible, keep it away from harsh chemicals, and use appropriate cleaning methods for the material and stones.

12 Do you work remotely or with clients outside New York?

Yes. GoldHearted is based in New York, but I work with clients across the United States. Most custom design decisions can be handled remotely through references, messages, 3D previews, approvals, and shipping. If your project needs something location-specific, I’ll explain that before we move forward.

13 Do you have a policies page?

Yes. GoldHearted has a Policies page with information about returns, privacy, custom-order expectations, production time, and shipping. Use the link below to open it inside the site.

14 Do you take returns?

Yes, GoldHearted accepts returns. Please review the current Policies page and contact me before sending anything back so I can give you the correct instructions for your order.

15 Do I get paperwork when GoldHearted makes a donation?

Yes. I can provide confirmation showing the GoldHearted donation connected to the collection or purchase. That paperwork is for transparency; it is not a charitable tax receipt for the customer, and you should not assume the purchase is personally tax-deductible. For tax advice, speak with a qualified tax professional.

16 Do you collaborate with artists in other industries?

Absolutely. I love collaboration when it pushes the idea somewhere I would not reach alone. Because my background is in 3D art, character work, animation, and jewelry, I can move between industries and translate another artist’s world into sculpture, jewelry, digital assets, or a completely new object.

Still Need Something?

Use GoldHearted Messenger for a quick question. If the idea needs its own design, start a Custom Jewelry request and tell me what you’re trying to make.

Custom Jewelry Design, Built From Your Idea

The best custom pieces usually start with something personal—a sketch, a person, a logo, a memory, or an idea you can see in your head but can’t find anywhere else. That’s the kind of project I like.

I build the design in 3D myself. You choose the metal, stones, color direction, and the details you care about; I use my experience to explain upkeep, durability, casting limits, wear, thickness, and whether those choices make sense for the finished piece. From there I work with trusted casters, bench jewelers, setters, and production partners to bring the design into the real world.
